The Self Sufficient Farm at Beeson : 2pm - 4.30pm. See sustainability in action! Tour a coastal organic farm which produces not only sheep, dairy, suckler cows and vegetables, but its own timber, fuel and stone. It also boasts an eco-education centre which is completely off grid with solar power, photovoltaic panels, a woodchip boiler and wind turbine. Meet and park by the Underwood Discovery Centre, Higher Farm, Beeson at 2pm. Less than 1 mile but over some slippery and uneven rocks. The Changing Farm - from medieval to modern at Keynedon Barton, Sherford : 2pm - 4.30pm. With a medieval mansion, historic and modern farm buildings, Keynedon Barton tells lots about the history of farming in Devon. Go with an archaeologist and a working farmer and you'll discover why the buildings and landscape has changed over time as you exlore this 600 acre farm which produces beef cattle, sheep and arable crops. South Hams Youth Fest 08 at Kingsbridge Town Square & car park : 10am-5pm. A whole day of free entertainment for young people, including a 30ft climbing wall in the middle of the Town Square. Also the bungee run, dozens of stands from local clubs & businesses, Kingsbridge Youth Market, live entertainment on the Bandstand, Ollies skatepark. A free service for anyone who is interested, organised by the West Country Historic Omnibus & Transport Trust. Salcombe Shoreline Clean Up: 2pm - 4pm. Help collect and record litter that washes up on the shores of Salcombe-Kingsbridge estuary. Part of a national survey. Wear warm clothes, take gardening gloves and a clipboard - bags supplied. Not suitable for very young children. Dog owners; take a lead and join the Batson team. Batson team meet at 2pm at the head of Batson Creek, near Salcombe (map ref SX 735 397). Some walking in shallow water and over slippery rocks. Scoble team meet at 2pm at Whitestrand Pontoon, opposite the Harbour Office, Salcombe to take a boat to Scoble Point. Return 4pm. This event is part of the South Devon AONB spring/summer events programme.

Kingsbridge Farmers Market - Town Square Kingsbridge : 9am-1pm. Seasonal vegetables and fruit are on offer along with freshly baked delicacies, cheeses, smoked goods, chillies, chocolates.


Wednesday 8th October
A Coffee Morning at All Saints Church, Malborough : 10.45-12.00noon - follows the 10.00 a.m. Holy Communion Service. There is no charge but donations towards Church funds would be appreciated. A chance to make new friends.

Torbay Adoption Team monthly informal information session, from 10am-12noon at Parkfield House, 38 Esplanade Road, Paignton. Looking to recruit applicants who live outside the Torbay area wishing to adopt older children.

hristmas Fanfare' - doors open 6.45pm, food from 7pm - A Christmas Concert with seasonal refreshments at Malborough Village Hall.

Mistletoe Ball at The Grand Hotel, Torquay : 7pm for 7.30pm. A fabulous evening and a great way to kick start the festive season. A chance to enjoy delicious food and dance the night away with a live band. For tickets contact Lynne on 01803 697509. Due to the demand of this very popular fundraising event, guests are reminded to book their tickets early.
