Dart Music Festival at Dartmouth. The Festival’s eleventh year, featuring Digby Fairweather (jazz), Snake Davis (saxophone), Amy Carson (opera), Seth Lakeman (folk), Andrew Millington and Christopher Gray (organ), Carmina (Celtic), Pee Wee Ellis (soul), The Eberle String Quartet. As well as the performances the festival has work shops, this year they are to be in drumming, guitar, Celtish music and choral music. The Workshops and Masterclass are, as many of the events in the programme, free with a retiring collection.

Diptford Horse Show & Gymkhana at Avonwick near South Brent : From 9am. Now in its 36th year and is a fun show suitable for all the family. In addition to the normal show events such as showing and jumping classes, there is also Dog Agility. No charge for spectator entry. All funds are donated to charity, thsi year, Devon Air Ambulance, World Horse Welfare, and charitable organisations within the village of Diptford.

From the coast of South Devon to some of London's top restaurants, Britanna Shellfish take, prepare and sell the freshest fish and shellfish from our shores. Learn how it's done on a visit to the vivier tanks with live crabs and lobsters. Then stroll to their new seafood cafe and shop by the sea. Children's Hospice South West's 5th Dartmouth Art Weekend at Royal Avenue Gardens, Dartmouth : 10am-4pm. 30+ artists, sculptors, photographers and craftworkers, displaying their talents in Royal Avenue Gardens. Children's activities, good homemade food, and lots of interesting artists to talk to.

Saturday 21st June

Salcombe - Kingsbridge Estuary Views & Foreshore : 2pm - 4.30pm. A circular walk along Kingsbridge and Bowcombe Creeks and back over the hill between, to investigate sheltered rocky shores, saltmarshes and estuarine birds, so bring binoculars and an ID guide if you have them. About 2.5 miles, with a few level but slippery rocks and a short but steep climb. Meet at the Kingsbridge Tourist Information Centre on Kingsbridge Quay (map ref: SX 735 441) at 2pm, return at 4.30pm. Please wear wellies or walking boots. Adults £3, children £1. This event is part of the South Devon AONB spring/summer events programme.

Mtiebi Georgian Male Voice Choir at South Brent Village Hall : 8pm. 9-piece male choir from Georgia in the Caucasian Mountains, traditional a cappella song with energetic traditional dance. Afternoon voice workshop for all abilities, 2pm. The real deal. In Britain for short tour. Tickets £9 and £6 from Artworks, South Brent, or telephone Jane 01364 72617. Bar available, please bring a picnic. Part of Villages in Action's programme of professional events for the year. Supported by Arts Council and South Hams District Council and Devon County Council.

Sunday 22nd June
Farming For The Birds at Southdown Farm, Malborough : 2pm - 4.30pm. The specialised crop, which is sold to the public and the RSPB, attracts traditional farmland birds - cirl buntings, skylarks, yellowhammers and more. Enjoy a guided walk around this 446 acre National Trust farm. Meet at 2pm at Southdown Farm (signed from Malborough - map ref: SX 700 385) return at 4.30pm. Some steep hills. Adults £3, children £1. Bird seed will be on sale after the walk. This event is part of the South Devon AONB spring/summer events programme.

Sunday 22nd June
Open Gardens at Mothecombe House, Holbeton from 2pm-5.30pm, in aid of The National Gardens Scheme. Admission £3.50 for adults, children free. Home made teats and plants on sale. Ample parking. No dos allowed.


Monday 23rd June
Baby "Ark" at: Kingsbridge Methodist Church, 100 Fore St, Kingsbridge : 2pm-3.45pm. A friendly drop-in group for babies, toddlers and their families. Grandparents who care for grandchildren and expectant parents welcome. Cost £1 per family inc's refreshments. Play corner for older children. All welcome. Parent Carers Voice at The Methodist Church Hall, Kingsbridge : 10am-12noon. For children with special / additional needs - providing support, opportunity to meet and talk to people who understand, information to access services and a chance to voice your opinions and influence the way services for children are planned and delivered. Speakers- Peter Squire, Joint Agence Manager and Peter Holman from Parent Partnership who will deliver short assertiveness training. Very pleased to welcome new parent carers.

Friday 27th June
Race Night at Kingsbridge Rugby Club, High House. Kingsbridge : 7pm-11pm. To raise funds to improve club facilities for members and visitors. Admission by ticket only including supper.
